What We Keep
Original studio project · Native game
What We Keep is an original narrative game set in one village across three generations. The history you preserve becomes an inheritance: a right to claim property, an obligation to work, or a silence that leaves the next generation without that authority.

The record decides what you can do
A flood has passed. You hear an account of what happened, inspect the traces left behind and decide what goes into the village register. The next generation inherits whatever authority that record creates. Your words can permit a taking, bind someone to service, or leave the families to bargain with no inherited claim at all.
One event, two inherited futures
Record that the mill was flooded against its owner's wishes and a later emergency permits taking the wheel's timber, while the owner keeps a claim for payment. Rewrite the act as a willing gift and the next generation can place the common under the mill family's control. Both histories can save the cottages, but one sacrifices the wheel and the other closes common land.

A small world where choices last
Six characters take the story through three generations. In this village, losses stick. A dismantled wheel stays gone. Cottages cleared for an overflow channel don't return, and transferred rights remain in force. All choices are authored and run locally, with no runtime AI service deciding what happens.
Made here, not on commission
This is Pine Lodge Studio's own game, not a client commission. The images are captures from the working Linux build, made in Godot with an authored 3D village. All 18 complete narrative routes have been checked. First-time human playtesting and browser-release verification are still separate; this page shows the game, not a browser download.
Your story could play like this
The same approach could become a short chapter in a fictional world or an experience for a heritage project. It could also frame a scenario around difficult decisions. We'd start with the story and its audience, then agree the playable scope and platform before production.
