Cahokia
Client work · Live
The site I built for Michael LeRoi’s Cahokia trilogy opens cinematically and gives visitors a prologue they can read or hear.

- The problem
- A book-launch site has to give readers a reason to try the book before they head to a retailer.
- What I did
- I opened the site on a moving illustrated landscape and gave the prologue its own space, to read or to hear.
- The result
- michaelleroi.com is live, with descriptions written from Michael’s material without needing his help.
Visitors step into the story
The illustrated opening moves with the scroll. Below that, the prologue sits in its own reading space with an audio player. A visitor can try the voice of the book before heading to a retailer, and choose to listen or read at their own pace.

The reading path stays clear
Books, prologue, world and author each have their own place in the navigation. The prologue also gets a direct link, so a reader can reach the story without working through the whole page.
“Not only is Alex a master artist, he was able to transform a whole lot of text into some very nice and precise descriptions without my help.”

Most of the world knows of my people this way…
The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God went in to the daughters of humans who bore children to them. These were the heroes of old, warriors of renown.
— Genesis 6:4
Here is my story. My name is Nicholas Kumanov. I am of the Annu; the first people.
